I'm always amazed by the number of tourists from around the world that crowd each day outside the gates of Buckingham Palace. No matter what you think of the Royal Family, it is one of those institutions that has stood the test of time - surviving revolutions, wars, scandals, divorce and abdications. The Queen is hugely popular in Britain and she has personally met almost every key world leader in the last 6 decades. The Diamond Jubilee in 2012 marking her 60 year reign was celebrated with gusto across the UK and the Commonwealth. In the last decade I had the chance of covering three Royal Weddings - Will & Kate, Charles & Camilla and Canadian Autumn Kelly & Prince Peter Phillips, the Queen's eldest grandson. And then of course there was the circus around the birth of Prince George in 2013. SG
